Dental veneers in Madhapur
A veneer is a thin, tooth-coloured shell bonded to the front of a tooth. It changes the shape, length or colour of that tooth, which is why people ask about veneers for front teeth that are chipped, worn, uneven or stained. The first appointment is about working out whether veneers suit your teeth, and how many you would need.
When veneers make sense
- Front teeth that are chipped or worn down
- Teeth that are uneven in length or shape
- Staining that whitening has not lifted, or cannot
How veneers are planned and fitted
- A first appointment to look at your teeth, talk through what bothers you and check your bite. Cosmetic work that ignores the bite does not last.
- A plan with the teeth involved, the cost and any alternatives worth knowing about. Nothing is prepared until you have decided.
- Most veneers need a thin layer of enamel taken off the front of the tooth, so the veneer sits flush with the teeth beside it. That step cannot be undone.
- The veneers are then bonded to the teeth.
When something else is a better choice
Veneers are one way to change how front teeth look, and sometimes there is a simpler one. If the teeth are crooked rather than misshapen, straightening may get you most of the way while keeping your own enamel.
If colour is the only problem, whitening may be enough. A small chip can often be built up with tooth-coloured filling material instead. And a tooth with too little of itself left to hold a filling usually needs a crown rather than a veneer.
Looking after veneers
Veneers are cleaned like the rest of your teeth: brushing, cleaning between the teeth and regular check-ups. They can chip or crack, so try not to bite on very hard things or use your teeth to open packets. Small chips can sometimes be repaired.

Common questions
How much do veneers cost?
It depends on how many teeth are involved, and the cost is in your plan before anything is done. Ask at your first appointment and you will get the figure for your own teeth.
Who does veneers at Align Dental?
Veneer cases go to whichever of three dentists is available: Dr. Challa Surya Venkata Sairam, Dr. D. Nihitha Dhanunjai or Dr. Manish Khazane. Ask who is in when you book.
Do veneers damage your teeth?
Most veneers need a thin layer of enamel taken off the front of the tooth first, so the veneer sits flush. Enamel does not grow back, so that step is permanent, and it is the main reason to be sure before you start.
Can veneers be whitened?
No. Whitening works on natural enamel and does not change the colour of veneers, crowns or fillings. If you want your other teeth lighter as well, whiten them first, so the veneers can be matched to the new shade.
How long do veneers last?
There is no fixed number of years. Veneers can chip or crack, and sometimes one has to be replaced. Cleaning them well and keeping up regular check-ups helps them last.
Worth knowing first
A veneer may need replacing one day, so it is worth being sure before you start.
If you are nervous about this, say so when you book. It changes how we run the appointment, and it is a very ordinary thing to tell us.
